Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 July 2026
These Terms govern your use of LensQuay (lensquay.com). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use LensQuay.
1. The platform
LensQuay is a UK platform that helps photographers showcase their work, win jobs, and sell client galleries; connects photographers with models and studios; and helps clients find and book photographers. For any arrangement made through the platform — a photography booking, a model engagement, or the hire of a studio space — LensQuay is a facilitator, not a party to that arrangement. The resulting contract is directly between the users involved (for example, between the photographer and the client, the model, or the studio).
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 to hold a paid account and provide accurate information.
- You’re responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity on your account.
- We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms or misuse the platform.
3. Subscriptions, tokens & billing
- Paid plans — including photographer Pro and Pro+, Model Pro, and Studio listings — and add-ons are billed in advance on a recurring basis via our payment provider until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- Bid tokens are a digital credit used to submit quotes on jobs. Tokens are non-refundable and have no cash value.
- Prices are in GBP and may change on notice; changes won’t affect the period you’ve already paid for.
4. Galleries, content & intellectual property
- You retain ownership of the photographs and content you upload. You grant LensQuay a licence to host, store, watermark, resize and display your content solely to operate the service.
- You must have the rights to everything you upload and the consent of identifiable people where required.
- When a client purchases photographs, they receive a personal-use licence to those images unless the photographer agrees otherwise. Photographers set their own prices.
5. Payments, sales & refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. LensQuay takes 0% commission on gallery sales; we’ll give notice before introducing any commission. A small card processing fee is added to gallery purchases at checkout and paid by the buyer, so the photographer receives their full listed price. Money from gallery sales is paid to the photographer’s connected Stripe account, and photographers are responsible for their own tax obligations on income earned.
- Digital photos bought from a gallery are delivered electronically. By buying, you ask us to make the download available immediately and you acknowledge that you therefore lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel once the purchase is complete.
- Digital photo purchases are non-refundable once they have been made available to download, except where the images are faulty, not as described, or where the law requires otherwise — if something’s wrong with your purchase, contact us and we’ll put it right.
- Physical prints and other tangible goods follow the returns terms shown to you at the point of order.
- Because gallery sales are settled directly to the photographer, any discretionary refund is arranged with that photographer, through us where appropriate.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: upload unlawful, infringing or harmful content; harass other users; scrape or misuse the platform; attempt to bypass payment or access controls; or use LensQuay to send spam. We may remove content and suspend accounts that breach this.
7. Disclaimers & liability
The platform is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for disputes between photographers and clients. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms. Some provisions survive termination (including IP, payment and liability terms).
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
10. Changes & contact
We may update these Terms; we’ll post changes here and update the date above. Questions? Email hello@lensquay.com.
