How to use LensQuay

Every job on LensQuay, start to finish, in a few short steps. Nothing here takes longer to do than it does to read.

Stuck on something that isn't here? Check the FAQ or send us a message and we'll add it.

Deliver the edited photos

What to do once your client has chosen their favourites.

  1. When your client confirms their picks you get an email, and each chosen photo gets a gold ⭐ Client pick frame in the gallery.
  2. Edit those photos as you normally would.
  3. On each chosen photo press ⬆ Final and upload your edited version. The client downloads this, not the proof.
  4. In a proofing gallery your client can only download a photo once its final is uploaded, so nothing half-finished ever reaches them.
  5. Made a mistake, or want to gift an extra shot? Use ☆ Add to picks on any photo to include it, or ⭐ Picked to take it back out.
  6. When they are all done, press Tell your client they're ready to download.

Send an email campaign to your clients

Fill a quiet week, or launch your Christmas mini-sessions.

  1. Your client list builds itself — anyone you send a gallery, contract or invoice to is saved under Studio → Clients. You can also import a CSV from your old tool.
  2. Go to Studio → Email campaigns and write your subject and message. Add a header image if you want one.
  3. Press Send test to my email first and check how it looks in your own inbox.
  4. When you are happy, send it. Every email goes out individually with your studio name on it and replies come back to you.
  5. Anyone can unsubscribe with one click, and they will never be emailed by you again — that is the law, and it keeps you out of spam folders.

Build your portfolio and get found

The page you send people instead of a signup link.

  1. Go to Studio → Portfolio and upload your best work. Quality beats quantity — twenty strong images beat a hundred average ones.
  2. Add a profile photo and a cover, then position them with the crop tool.
  3. Fill in your location and postcode. Clients search by distance, so this is what puts you in front of someone nearby.
  4. Choose your grid shape: Square for a tidy Instagram look, or Original to keep every photo's real proportions.
  5. Your public page is lensquay.com/p/your-handle. That is the link worth sharing — people trust a portfolio far more than they trust a signup link.

Let clients book you online

Stop going back and forth about dates.

  1. Go to Studio → Bookings and turn bookings on.
  2. Set the hours you actually work, for each day of the week, and how long a session runs.
  3. Your booking page goes live at lensquay.com/book/your-handle, and a Book a session button appears on your public profile.
  4. A client picks a slot that suits them and you get an email. Nothing is confirmed until you accept it, so you always have the final say.
  5. Put the booking link straight into a campaign when you are promoting mini-sessions.

Get paid, and keep all of it

Connecting your bank so gallery sales reach you.

  1. Go to Account → Payments and payouts and connect your bank through Stripe. It takes a few minutes and you will need your bank details and some ID.
  2. Once that is done, money from gallery sales goes to your account, not ours. LensQuay takes 0% commission.
  3. The client covers the small card fee at checkout, so the price you set is the amount you keep.
  4. Studio → Sales shows every order, who bought it and which photos they took.
  5. Invoices and contracts live under Studio → Paperwork if you want to bill for the session itself.

Set up your model profile

For models

Getting found by photographers near you.

  1. Upload your photos under Portfolio. A free profile can hold up to 50 and shows your newest 10 publicly.
  2. Add your location, the styles you work in, and your experience level. Photographers filter on all three.
  3. Keep Available for work switched on when you are taking bookings, and off when you are not.
  4. Watch the Casting calls page — photographers post shoots there and you can reply directly.
  5. Model Pro (£5/month) shows every photo you have uploaded instead of just your newest ten.
